2023: Demais Studio x AMET x Hero House

showcased some of my @demaisstudio pieces from the GERAZANTS collection at an @armeniansmet x @herohouse.io event last year ❤️💙🧡

it always feels so nice connecting with like-minded armenians here in LA/the diaspora, so far from our homeland — especially ones in creative and/or entrepreneurial fields.

while our culture celebrates creativity and taking risks to survive, growing up as an immigrant, it was very taboo to pursue careers that don’t “guarantee stability” (I.e. doctor, lawyer, accountant). to an extent, it still is and always will be.. but back then there was almost no 🇦🇲 representation, making it feel completely unrealistic and out of reach.

It’s taken me years of unlearning fears and doubts along with sheer determination and persistence to wholeheartedly pursue a career path as a photographer and entrepreneur.

I am grateful for my ancestors resilience to exist and for my family’s courage to take the leap to come here and rebuild, so that today I can hold space to create art, build community, take bigger risks, create abundance, break cycles and heal. 🙏🏼🤍✨

my intention is to continue connecting with open-minded, creative & entrepreneurial Armenians from the homeland to the diaspora in order to collaborate on projects that will document and share our culture and experience, and heal intergenerational trauma

I am grateful to the @armeniansmet team for sharing their space with me and their commitment to connecting Armenians in media, entertainment, and tech.

Thank you to @thatonephotolab in Glendale for always providing the highest quality prints and supporting the Armenian community
