ongoing documentary project honoring my Armenian roots & homeland

I created @gerazants during the 44 day armenian - azerbaijan war of 2020

because I was frustrated with the revisionist history, misinformation, and gaslighting from turks & azeris as well as sloppy “both-sides” reporting by international media.

the key point that was being questioned, was that Armenians are indigenous to the land. I wanted to showcase Armenia’s physical presence in the region over time, so I researched and shared historic international maps dating back to 600 BC & posted to instagram.

My next project will be sharing documentation on the Armenian Genocide of 1915. It’s sad to have to keep “proving” such horrific atrocities a century later, even though it’s a well-documented historical tragedy reviewed by international scholars, historians, and human rights activists.

In the meantime, I’m trying to curate an online community of Armenians there, in Armenia and in the diaspora via Gerazants.
